Volunteer Volunteer roles Young Fundraisers Would you like to be part of the Young Fundraisers Programme to support the work that we do here at Link Age Southwark? Are you aged between 12-18? Here is your chance to get your creative juices flowing by planning and delivering different events as well as meeting like-minding people, boosting your CV and helping the local community in Southwark! What does a Young Fundraiser do? Each year we host and promote a range of community events that help us raise money. We need volunteers to support us to deliver these events on the day, which could include: welcoming guests, helping with stands at events, baking cakes to be sold at events, and helping us to promote events locally. Eligibility criteria: Anyone between the ages of 12 and 18 years old, living in the London Borough of Southwark. What will you gain from your role? We will offer you training and insight into how charity fundraising works. You will develop new skills, including teamwork and self-confidence. Volunteering is really good for your CV, for future jobs and university applications. You will also be making a positive contribution to your local community by supporting Southwark's older residents and people living with dementia. You will get a taster of what it is like to work for a charity. We spoke to one of our young volunteers who attended one of our community fundraising events to ask for their thoughts: "I really enjoyed meeting and interacting with new people, learning new skills and being a part of the community." How do I sign up? If this sounds like a volunteering opportunity you would be interested in or would like some more information please contact us on 020 8299 2623 or email us on [email protected].
