The difference we make We pride ourselves on being a small, local charity that makes a big difference. We currently support over 800 older people and people living with dementia with the help of 400+ amazing volunteers. In the last year, we supported 199 befriending relationships, ran 23 groups attended by 268 older people, completed 137 practical support tasks, helped 151 older people by providing information and support, and distributed our bimonthly newsletter to 560 recipients. We conducted our annual survey in 2023 to ask the older people we work with what impact our services have on their lives. They told us that, because of our services, they feel less lonely, are more connected to their community and feel better able to manage living in their own homes. We also asked our service users to tell us, in their own words, the main difference our services have made to their quality of life. They spoke about the joy of meeting new people, making new friends and having something to look forward to. "Link Age Southwark is very supportive, the staff are good listeners and very caring – they make a lot of effort to help."
