Information and Support

We co-deliver Ageing Well Southwark, a borough-wide service which aims to inform and support residents over the age of 60 and their carers, by helping them discover and access a range of available community services.

We are working in partnership with Southwark Council to deliver this service, as well as our fellow members of COPSINS (Consortium of Older People's Services in Southwark), comprising of Age UK Lewisham and Southwark, Blackfriars Settlement, Southwark Carers, Southwark Pensioners Centre and Time and Talents.

As part of Ageing Well Southwark, we support Southwark residents over the age 60 or living with a diagnosis of dementia, and their unpaid carers, with our Information and Support service.

We can help with financial, practical, health and social isolation issues such as:

  • Getting online
  • IT support with tablets and mobiles
  • Form filling
  • Benefits check
  • Toenail cutting (fee payable)
  • Finding a befriender
  • Joining a social group
  • Researching activity and exercise groups
  • Support for people living with dementia and their carers
  • Finding local services and access to Age UK’s Handyperson service

How can I get help?

If you would like to refer yourself or someone you know to this service, please call us on 020 8299 2623 or attend our Ageing Well Southwark Information and Support drop-in on a Monday, between 1pm and 4pm at our office - Link Age Southwark, URC, Tell Grove, London SE22 8RH.

Where more time is needed, we can book another appointment (at your home or our office). If specialist advice is required, we can refer you to appropriate experts.

My experience as a volunteer

My experience as a volunteer

I've always worked in the NHS, mostly in paediatrics, and when I retired I wanted to do something equally rewarding but different so when I found that Link Age Southwark (Dulwich Helpline as it was then) was looking for befrienders for the elderly I thought this sounded exactly what I was looking for.
