Our Musical Memories group has been meeting on screen regularly since early April via Zoom. Our group members living with dementia have been supported by family members to use the online platforms and some who live independently have also navigated the technology with support from staff. Participating in online singing and chat has provided much-needed weekly social contact and has meant that familiarity and routine has continued.
The group still meets weekly on a Wednesday but at the slightly later time of 3:30pm for an hour. Please see below for details on signing up to this group.

Every Wednesday, 2pm-3.30pm, SE15

Our Musical Memories group started in 2018 and ever since has been one of our most popular groups. This group was created for people living with a diagnosis of dementia, especially those who are further along in their progression, but also welcomes anyone over the age of 60. The group is run by an experienced tutor who leads the singing including warm-up exercises, rounds, themed songs and she also takes requests. The singing is often accompanied by an array of percussion instruments and the group promotes a feeling of wellbeing and positivity.

"I go away feeling happy"
