Celebrating our service users on Silver Sunday

Sunday 4th October was Silver Sunday, the National Day for celebrating the older generation in our community. To mark this day we wanted to bring together service users, volunteers and staff for our first ever virtual tea party. There was entertainment and conversation, all enjoyed over a cup of tea and a piece of cake.

The entertainment included a welcome note from our Director Sophie Wellings, a Golden Age quiz written by one of our volunteers and singing from our staff member Lucilla Graham, who is a mezzo soprano. Lucilla enchanted us with her voice and had us all singing along at the end, you can watch the video of Lucilla's performance below. This was all followed by an opportunity for everyone to chat in small breakout rooms.

We were delighted to see so many of our service users join us online for this event. For some it was their first time using Zoom and attending this event has given them the confidence to use it again.

We know this event was different to our usual parties and we look forward to the day when we can all meet together in person again. Until that time, we are thrilled to have been able to provide this fun event bringing generations together.
