Due to the ongoing situation regarding Covid-19, we have had to make some difficult decisions regarding the delivery of our services.
As from Friday 13th March, all of Link Age Southwark’s weekly groups have been suspended until further notice. Alongside this we are having to move all of our befriending to telephone support. This is in recognition of the vulnerability of our service users and the pending self-isolation of those over 70.
We are reviewing our service provision as much as we can to meet needs in these fast paced and complex circumstances. Our group tutors and volunteers are going to adapt their offer and remain in contact with service users offering resource materials and regular phone calls to keep service users in touch with the purpose of that group. We are attempting to do all that we can to ensure people feel supported at a time of heightened anxiety.
We exist to help older people in our community feel less lonely. This has not changed, we simply have to adapt how we achieve our mission to ensure the safety of those who matter most to us, our service users and volunteers.
If you would like any further information about our services, please call the office on 020 8299 2623 and talk to a member of our team. We will be updating this page as and when we have more information so please check back for further information.
We’re all in this together.
