Iain Glen left the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 1985, having won the prestigious Bancroft Gold Medal. He rose to prominence with an acclaimed performance as a charismatic gang leader in The Fear, followed by his multi award winning tour de force as imprisoned Scottish poet Larry Winters in Silent Scream.

Award winning stage performances include Macbeth, Henry V (Royal Shakespeare Company), Streetcar Named Desire (National Theatre), the musical Martin Guerre and The Blue Room (West End /Broadway).

More recently Iain starred in Uncle Vanya and The Crucible in London’s West End which both won a host of awards.

He is well known for playing Ser Jorah in Game of Thrones. Other popular film and television credits include Downton Abbey, Delicious, Tomb Raider, Resident Evil, Kidnapped, Small Engine Repair, Ripper Street, Eye In the Sky, Glasgow Kiss and Song for a Raggy Boy.
